Malleea Cheese is a business managed by Nigel Jackson on the family's farm at the Gold Coast, Qld specializing in soft cheeses.

ABOUT NIGEL JACKSON:

In 1998, Nigel was diagnosed with two types of leukaemia which took him in and out of hospital for different treatments over the next 3 years.  At the end of 2000, Nigel finished his treatment and started 5 years of remission. During this time, he saw an article on Landline about cheese making courses at the DPI in Brisbane.  After trying the course and enjoying it, he decided to set up a basic home cheese making room in an old dairy and soon discovered that he had a passion for it.  Nigel finished a Diploma in Food Technology in 2004, and soon after, was able to buy a second hand cheese factory and relocate it to Yatala.  In 2005, Nigel finished remission and was classed as cured.  In 2007, Nigel was quite lucky to receive a Scholarship in cheese making with Dairy Australia.

Today, Nigel enjoys making cheese and is dedicated to making the finest quality pasteurised cheese that is Chemical, Preservative and Gluten Free.
